New Model · Greater Impact

Since our founding, West Florida Foster Care Services has been dedicated to walking alongside foster and adoptive families in Hillsborough County.  Through our new model as a Family Support Agency, an even greater impact can be made in the lives of these families.

Relational Advocacy

As this new Family Support Agency model is launched, Relational Advocacy is at the heart of everything we do.  Studies shows that families with a dedicated support network are significantly more likely to remain stable, keep children in permanent placements, and thrive long-term.  Through Relational Advocacy, we can better ensure no foster family will walk this road alone.

Family Coaching and Support

Certified coaches will provide practical, trauma-informed guidance to help families navigate difficult behaviors, transitions, and court processes.

Trauma-Informed Care Networks

Families will be connected to a vetted network of therapists, educators, and specialists trained in trauma and attachment-informed practices.

Advocacy Volunteers

Every foster family will be supported by staff, as well as by trained community volunteers who walks alongside them through challenges, celebrations, and everything in between.

Crisis and Emergency Support

When families face an unexpected crisis, advocates will respond quickly with practical help, referrals, and a caring human presence.

Mentor Relationships

Experienced foster and adoptive families will mentor newer ones, providing a safe space for honest conversation, guidance and peer support.
